Introduction
Mr. M. Waqar Monnoo holds a Master of Business Administration from the USA and serves as the Chief Executive and Director of the Olympia Group, comprising Olympia Mills Limited and its associated company Olympia Power Generation (Pvt) Limited. With a career spanning over thirty years in top management, he is a prominent member of the distinguished Monnoo business family of Pakistan.
Business Career
After completing his academic career, Mr. Monnoo assumed charge as Managing Partner of Calcutta Cotton
Ginning Factory (Nawabshah) and Khurrum Ginning Factory (Dera Ghazi Khan) from 1969 to 1971, excelling
across all areas of management. He subsequently served as Director of Indus Beverages (Pvt) Limited from
1973 to 1982, earning an excellent reputation for the company through exemplary decision-making. He then led
Kotri Textile Mills Limited from 1986 to 1990.
In 1990, Mr. Monnoo took charge of Olympia Spinning & Weaving Mills Limited as Chief Executive Officer,
successfully transforming it into one of Pakistan's premier textile companies. The company became a leading
manufacturer of cotton yarn and attained ISO 9001-9002 certification. In 1994, he also established Olympia
Power Generation (Pvt) Limited — a 9 MW power generation company — to meet the expanding energy
requirements of the group. Under his leadership, the Olympia Group maintains a steady growth trajectory with
an expanding loyal customer base worldwide.
